I’m Jody Ford
Yoga Teacher, Seeker of Wisdom, Author, and Proud Crone.
For over two decades, I've journeyed through the timeless wisdom of Yoga, teaching, learning, and evolving with and alongside its transformative practices. My path has led me to embrace Functional Approach Yoga, a practice rooted in the traditions of Hatha Yoga and Patanjali’s 8-limbed path, while also embracing accessibility and adapting to the unique rhythms of modern life.
This practice isn't about chasing perfection or adhering to rigid ideals. It's about creating Yoga experiences that honor each individual's story
By combining traditional asana with practical approaches, we foster accessibility, personal expression, and a sense of ease for the nervous system.

*Hatha is a foundational type of yoga that complements and enriches other types of yoga. Unlike Vinyasa, the emphasis on asana in Hatha is on individual postures rather than flow, which makes Hatha a good place to work on mindful breathing, physical vigor, balance, focus and concentration, introspection and self-study.
The 8 limbs of yoga are: Yamas (ethical standards), Niyamas (self-discipline standards), Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (intentional movement of energy, usually via breathwork), Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses from external awareness), Dharana (internal focus), Dhyana (meditation - a stream of unbroken stillness of the mind), and Samadhi (self-realization).
Why Crone?
Barbara Walker writes in her book The Crone:
“The Crone’s title was related to the word crown and she represented the power of the ancient tribal matriarch who made the moral and legal decisions for her subjects and descendants. The medieval metamorphosis of the wise woman into the witch changed the word Crone from a compliment to an insult and established the stereotype of malevolent old womanhood that continues to haunt elder women today.”
Therefore, we are reclaiming Crone from a term of abuse, negative connotations, unappreciation, and limiting beliefs for all women.Crones Yoga is a place of non-judgment. A safe place to explore your edges in the company of peers. A place to expand as a person. A place to replenish your energy. A place to enjoy community.I am so glad you are here !
